Compassion fatigue is a combination of exhaustion and secondary traumatic stress. Providing care and social support to people who experience traumatic events can be rewarding and, at the same time, stressful. 7 This stress from providing care has been coined as a “burden of caring.” While the literature on compassionate exhaustion and fatigue in healthcare is well documented, they haven't been extensively studied in the area of burns. Therefore, the objective of this descriptive and cross-sectional study was to evaluate the prevalence of exhaustion and compassionate fatigue among doctors specializing in burns and Home Care in Eads TN in Israel.
